Yingli Green Energy tops gross margin guidance, raises annual forecasts

Venice appeals court upholds LDK arbitration award


A Venice appeals court has upheld the international arbitration award made in connection with the ongoing dispute between Helios Technology and LDK Solar. The Venice court agreed that the "take or pay" clause outlined in the solar wafer supply contract LDK had with Helios was valid and at the terms and conditions specified in the contract. Helios must therefore pay LDK approximately US$31 million plus interest, costs and lawyers fees.

Suntech hits record revenues, shipments in Q3; plans to acquire 375MW of solar wafering capacity


Suntech Power Holdings saw its revenues and shipments increase dramatically during the third quarter, with sales reaching an all-time high. The solar PV company also said it plans to enhance the vertical integration of its production assets by buying 375MW of silicon ingot and wafer-slicing capacity from Glory Silicon for approximately $127 million. The company expects to ship more than 1.5GW of modules during 2010, more than double the amount from the previous year.

Crossing Automation installs material tracking system at Taiwanese cell maker facility


Crossing Automation’s material tracking system has been installed for an unnamed Taiwanese solar cell manufacturer. The tracking systems contains Crossing’s Auto ID and automated tracking system (ATS) software, as well as the Smart Storage asset tracking and Smart Storage racks. Linde extends GCL gas supply agreement as the company increases capacity in China


The Linde Group is to expand the existing gas supply infrastructure currently held with GCL-Poly. Under the terms of the extended agreement, which will involve approximately €15 million of investment, Linde will construct production and supply facilities for high-purity hydrogen at the Xuzhou Industrial Park facility.
